On 8th June 2021, five students from the 1st year of the glassmaking technician program from the Rogaška Slatina School Center, together with their teacher Zinka Kobula Kamenšek, visited our company.
In the introductory presentation, the director Borut Šiško presented the development of the company from its establishment in 1965 until today. He pointed out that his father started with glassmaking by cutting off the glass and installing it, and today, with modern technology, Sisko steklarstvo offers various glass elements for furnishing apartments, hotels, offices, museums, large passenger ships…
The students started the factory tour in a new business facility, which was built in 2018. Production manager Gregor Šiško was guiding them through all stages of production – from storage to glass cutting, various CNC glass processing, screen printing, painting, tempering, UV -gluing and sandblasting. The students followed those processing procedures with great interest. One of the students himself performed a test of breaking a tempered glass, which is performed in the company once a week. They were also impressed by the UV bonding of the display cases, as they admired the flawless joints of the ground glass at an angle of 45⁰.
The tour ended in the company’s showroom with finished products and samples for the architects. After the tour, the guests were taken to a nearby pizza restaurant, they received an anthology published on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the company, a picture with melted tulips (made by Lorena Ignaz) and some promotional products (glass pencil stands, pendants,…). The students followed the presentation of the company with interest all the time, one of the students even said that it was the most interesting thing she had ever seen on the tours. Our company would be happy to accept such students for the internship.
